In this episode, we have longtime sports broadcaster Mike Raita and his surgeon, Dr. Marty Heslin. Mike Raita is a 35-year veteran of TV sports broadcasting, winning multiple awards over his 27 years spent in Birmingham, Alabama. His career as a sportscaster broke several big Alabama stories, including the Alabama Crimson Tide Coach Gene Stalling's decision to retire, Coach Denise Francione's departure, and Coach Mike Shula's firing. After leaving broadcasting, Mike spent several years in advertising agencies and teaching before being tapped by Sen. Tommy Tuberville to communicate with his constituents over twelve counties. We're excited to welcome Mike and his surgeon, Dr. Marty Heslin, to give us a play-by-play on his cancer journey, his survivorship, maximizing the patient-doctor relationship, and what's next for Mike in his career and life.
